The organizing team in El Salvador launched MAG+S Central America with an activity that took place at the campus of the Central American University José Simeón Cañas (UCA). More than 80 youth attended the event, coming from parishes, programs, and institutions linked with the Society of Jesus, including the Fe y Alegría school network, the Colegio Externado of San José, the UCA, the Ignatian Leadership Program, and San Bartolomé Mártir parish in Arcatao.

José Leonidas Barrios Jaén, S.J., coordinator of MAG+S in El Salvador, affirmed that “to be MAG+S is something that affects youth for their whole lives, and it marks them in the work that they do as volunteers, in their studies, and in their personal lives. That same spirit is what should be imparted to those who will attend in 2019.”

The delegation in El Salvador will meet monthly to receive the necessary formation, which will allow them to offer and share a fraternal encounter with the Ignatian youth who will arrive from different delegations to this small corner of Central America.
